14 January 2008- Opening of the Centre for eGovernance Development in Ljubljana – The Stability Pact electronic South East Europe Initiative and key stakeholders establish Centre for eGovernance Development in SEE signing the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Centre for eGovernance Development. The main objectives of the Centre are promoting the development of eGovernance programmes within South Eastern Europe, on the basis of a public-private partnership, through dissemination of information and best practices, and facilitating training and advising leaders and regional governments in the use of information and communication technologies to increase efficiency and citizen participation.

20-21 November 2007– 10th CEI Economic Forum: Panel on "ICT in SEE: Strategic Issues in Research, Technology and Deployment" in Sofia– At the 10th CEI Economic Forum more than 1300 participants gathered to discuss cross cutting economic issues: energy infrastructure, SMEs and ICT development, new waves of reforms in the capital and real estate markets. The Panel session on ICT development highlighted the strategic issues related to research and business convergence in the ICT sector in South East Europe. Panelists (representatives of academia, government and private sector) were discussing the Great IST Project results, available instruments for technical assistance and future development plans in the region, recognizing the need for a regional cross-border e-Collaboration of the neighbouring countries and how the "e" connectivity could contribute to the country's overall competitiveness. Representative of the Stability Pact delivered the presentation on policy and regulatory challenges facing the ICT Sector in South East Europe.

29 October 2007- Ministerial Conference on Information Society Development in Sarajevo - Ministerial Conference on Information Society Development was held in Sarajevo on 29 October under the umbrella of Stability Pact and in close co-operation with the Ministry of Communication and Transport of BiH, UNDP BiH and the EC Delegation in Sarajevo. Ministers of Telecommunication and Information Society from the initiative member parties – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Romania and UNMIK/Kosovo – adopted a new regional action plan: “e-SEE Agenda Plus for the Development of Information Society in SEE 2007- 2012”. The Agenda promotes a single, open and competitive internal ICT market, gives priorities to innovation and investment in research and education and strives to achieve an inclusive e-Society. At the Ministerial Conference Croatia took over the Chairmanship of the e-SEE Initiative from Serbia who chaired the Initiative from 2002. Montenegro was selected as new b-SEE Taskforce Coordinator for 2007-2008.

25 September 2007– SP Workshop on eGovernance in Skopje - The Stability Pact and the USAID Regional Competitiveness Initiative (RCI) jointly organized the first eSEE Initiative Workshop on eGovernance in Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, on September 25-26. The event brought together over 30 key governmental decision-makers from the region and some 90 participants to discuss best practices in the fields of eLeadership, eCustoms, eProcurement, eCommerce, eBusiness, and eEducation in order to develop a roadmap for eGovernance implementation in the region. The eGovernance workshop also set the stage for the launch of a Center for eGovernance Development in Slovenia, due to open in the coming months.
