The Ministers of Trade and Economy and their representatives, from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (including Montenegro), Republic of Macedonia and Romania, met in Geneva on 18 January 2001. They agreed on a joint statement of intent regarding Trade Liberalisation in the region of South Eastern Europe. Special Co-ordinator, Bodo Hombach, called this achievement a "breakthrough" in pushing forward on a key objective complementing the European Union's Stabilisation and Association Agreements with the countries of the Region.
