Gender Task Force

Agreement on Cooperation between the Gender Task Force and the Trafficking Task Force

As both the Gender Task Force and the Trafficking Task Force are recognized by the Stability Pact for Southeastern Europe, operating in the same region with OSCE sponsorship, a natural interest exists for cooperation. The areas of particular cooperation shall include, but are not limited to:

  1. Joint projects of public information / awareness raising / national campaigns:

  • to address editors of electronic media in Southeast Europe of the importance of including gender equality media programming and trafficking media programming in regular media program schemes.

  • to lobby legislators and policymakers to improve existing anti-trafficking policies and their implementation or to adopt strong anti-trafficking policies where they do not exist.

  • to assist networks of elected women politicians working on improving gender equality to advance a strong anti-trafficking agenda in their respective legislatures.

  • to provide updated information on GTF activities and trafficking task force for display on respective websites.

  1. Commitment to include a strategy for prevention of trafficking of women though women's economic empowerment into the Gender Task Force's overall approach to women's economic empowerment in Southeast Europe.

  2. Gender Task Force national governmental and non-governmental focal points will cooperate with trafficking focal points on issues of mutual concern in each country of the SEE region. GTF focal points likewise will assist in identification of potential focal points in countries in which trafficking focal points have not yet been identified and keep GTF and Trafficking Task Force Chairs informed of national developments.

  3. The GTF Task Force Chair will institute regular meetings for exchange of information between the two task forces and the Trafficking task Force Chair will be a member of the Gender Task Force Advisory Board and will be invited to participate in all official GTF Meetings.
